Deon AI for Craft CMS

Craft renders server-side. Deon AI writes SEO fixes straight into the delivered HTML — before it reaches a visitor or a crawler. No overlay, no client-side script that Google or an AI crawler could ignore.

The deon-ai/craft-connect plugin is a thin API client between your Craft site and Deon AI. It covers three areas:

SEO fixes at the origin

Audit recommendations from Deon AI are written into the delivered HTML server-side with one click — not via a client script that Google or an AI crawler could ignore.

Title & meta description. Overridden per URL — the existing <title> is replaced, the meta description upserted.
Canonical URL. Sets or corrects rel="canonical" per page.
Schema.org / JSON-LD. Structured data (incl. FAQ and breadcrumb markup) is injected as <script type="application/ld+json">.
Visible to every crawler. Googlebot and AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot) see the optimization in the raw HTML, without JavaScript.

Overrides are stored in a dedicated plugin table (per URI) and applied via Craft's Response event just before delivery — every step is fail-soft.

Blog publishing

Articles that Deon AI writes for you land directly as an entry in your blog section — as a draft or live, you decide. Title, slug and body are set; existing entries can be updated by ID instead of duplicated. The section handle (default blog) and body-field handle (default body) are configurable in the plugin settings.

SDK & domain verification

With injectSdk enabled, the plugin embeds the Deon AI SDK (tracking, conversions) and the verification meta automatically — with no Twig template edit. That means connection verification in the wizard works without any manual snippet.

Installation

Connecting

In Deon AI, under Connect website, choose the Craft CMS platform.
Enter the four values shown in Craft under Settings → Plugins → Deon AI Connect:
· API key — authenticates every call from Deon AI (header X-Deon-Key).
· Site ID — your Deon AI site.
· SDK key — for tracking & events.
· Verification UUID — used in the verification meta.
Craft supports env variables in these fields — so $DEON_API_KEY etc. instead of plaintext in the backend.
Back in the Deon AI wizard, click Verify.

Configuration

Adjust the section and body-field handles to your schema if they differ. Env variables are supported in all fields, so staging and production can use separate sites.

Security

Every call from Deon AI to your site goes through the X-Deon-Key header, checked with a constant-time comparison. If anything goes wrong the plugin still serves the page — every patch step is fail-soft, none of it can take your website down.

Every change is reversible with one click; in Deon AI you see exactly what was applied.
